Roxana Vilcu

Communications Officer

Roxana joined AEIDL at the end of 2019 as Communications Officer for Horizon 2020 projects dealing with topics such as rural development policy, digitalisation of rural areas and mountains’ resilience to climate change. She is in charge of all communication activities ranging from website development, newsletters, graphic design to dissemination and engagement activities, as well as event organisation. As a member of the Rural & Territorial Development Unit, Roxana supports the coordination and implementation of the Unit’s objectives and activities. As a thematic focus, Roxana is researching the topic of women in rural areas, specifically linked to community-led and social innovation.
From 2016 to 2019, Roxana worked for the Contact Point of the European Network for Rural Development (ENRD) in the Communications team, where she was managing social media presence, web content, newsletters and relevant communication activities on topics such as Smart Villages, social inclusion, bioeconomy in rural areas, depopulation, etc. Furthermore, Roxana was involved in supporting and facilitating several workshops and conference sessions of the network. Of Romanian nationality, Roxana speaks native Spanish, is fluent in English and has a good working knowledge of French and Dutch. She holds an MSc degree in Geography and an MA in European Studies.
